YoNaturals: No vendor is easier to work with

As those junk foods are increasingly being phased out of snack vending machines at schools, healthcare facilities and other organizations due to health mandates or employee wellness programs, some vending concerns are going to extremes to hold onto their portfolio of active vending sites.  They may insist, for instance, on contracts which grant them exclusive vending rights, or seek other ways in which to limit your consumer options.

We at YoNaturals go about business in a much healthier manner.

In fact — we’re actually pleased to share your location with other vending operators, because we’re confident that the marketplace will quickly demonstrate to you the value of the YoNaturals healthy vending approach and of a YoNaturals product line which demonstrates to your public your own commitment to good health.  And if your location qualifies, and you wish to host a YoNaturals healthy vending machine, we will deliver and install a YoZone absolutely free of charge.  All the costs associated with the day to day operating of the YoZone is our responsibility. The only requirement is that your location provide a power outlet and the space required for the YoZone.

And if you opt to purchase one of our machines we have an in-house team of location analysts that specialize in securing locations for our customers.  We use a variety of marketing techniques to secure locations that meet the YoNaturals criteria for success. We also have hundreds of locations contacting us each week wanting our machines. These locations are kept for our customers.

Few other competitors will match all that — and none can boast of the healthy food and beverage selection we offer.  We are, after all, the market leader when it comes to healthy vending.

Call us today.  It could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Healthier foods for the hurried lifestyle

In case you’ve ever wondered, America is very much in the midst of an obesity crisis that only gets worse with each passing year.

Especially with regard to our kids.  In 1980, approximately six percent of American children were officially classified as obese;  the most recent data show that the percent of children falling into the obese category is now sixteen percent and climbing.  And a further sixteen percent of American kids now qualify as overweight.

The statistics over the years have been even worse among American adults.

This problem clearly isn’t going away, nor are the poor dietary habits and overall lack of exercise which play into it.  Part of the problem has always centered around choice and convenience.  We’re a society which famously values convenience, seemingly over all else.  Hence, the invention of modern fast-food restaurants, TV dinners, food vending machines and other innovations catering to those perpetually in a hurry.

The quick and cheap isn’t always the most nutritious — in fact, too often it’s something quite the opposite.  And yet, convenience needn’t always be the enemy of good nutrition.

YoNaturals was founded in the belief that people often make poor daily nutrition choices simply because they too often lack good options.  We feel that the pathway to better public health may well lie in simply providing students, office workers and shoppers more vended food and drink choices which meet healthy standards regarding fat, salt and sugar content.

And we’ve put our beliefs into practice by spearheading what, in effect, is our own healthy vending machine movement — stocked with hundreds of choices that meet these healthy standards.  Nation-wide our distinctive YoZone, YoThirsty and YoHungry vending machines are assertively making a difference, one location at a time, and actively challenging schools and workplaces to more seriously consider the positive impact they can have on health.

Is there room for both profit and public-spiritedness in the vending business?  We and our rapidly growing corps of distributors say “Yes!”

Health Food Vending: Your Search for a Sound Business is Over

As America pulls itself out of the current economic difficulties, many people are looking for relatively safe places to invest their money. Additionally, many experts think that our economic recovery will be directly affected by the continuing confidence of consumers in our marketplace as well as the many small businesses that contribute greatly to our economy. That said, if you are a potential small business owner or investor, now is the time to consider investing in health food vending machines with a YoNaturals Business. It’s time to make an investment in a solid industry with the potential to help the U.S. economy retain ground and regain traction in world standings.

No one is really surprised by the fact that people are skittish. Many are socking their savings away into “safe” savings accounts or treasury bonds, and the most scared are even pulling their money out of the banks altogether. However, even in these seemingly hardscrabble economic times, there are still some good investments out there. In fact, one of those investments is likely right in front of your eyes (especially if you work in an office building): vending machines.

Although the thought of spending money on unnecessary purchases may be far from your mind, consider this: in this economy, vending machines look even more appealing than normal. Whether providing nourishment to your coworkers who have forgotten their lunch at home or dishing up snacks to you and your office mates on your coffee breaks, vending machines play a solid role at the office. And it’s a role that is hardly shaken by the recent economic downturn. In fact, the low cost and relative convenience of food from vending machines looks even more appealing when people consider costlier alternatives. Added to the fact that YoNaturals vending machines do not dispense your typical junk food fare, and you have found a market that is ripe for investment.

Contrary to the more traditional snack and soda machines, YoNaturals has focused its efforts on the health food market, establishing itself as a leader of the healthy vending revolution. Across the country people are demanding healthier alternatives to the ubiquitous junk food options offered up by their office vending machines, and this fact is one major factor that is driving the growth of the organic food market. YoNaturals is keyed in on this trend and fully expects the growth to continue as more research is conducted on the effects of residual chemicals on our food products. As a savvy and on-the-ball investor, you too can be a part of this growth by providing 100% organic and natural snack choices to the people in your city, state, or region.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, contact CEO of YoNaturals Mark Trotter today to find out more about health food vending machines and the stability that this investment can offer in a generally unstable economy.

Obesity: Nature vs. Nurture by YoNaturals California Vending

Author: Laura Rayburn for YoNaturals Vending in California

With every new fast food restaurant that is built, obesity is becoming a more and more commonplace and unchangeable fact of life in this nation. When people consistently eat more calories than they burn during the course of a day, obesity results. So, aside from the extra calories that have been consumed over an extended period of time, what are the other contributing factors that are to blame when obesity sets in? Do your genes play a bigger role than your home environment? Or is it the other way around?

Even outside of America, obesity is wreaking havoc on people’s health the world over, often being linked to diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease. As nations develop their economic strengths and their systems evolve into ever more complex systems, fats and sugars become more prevalent in people’s diets. At the same time, as the industrialization of a nation occurs, there is a change in work habits. Work that previously required a lot of hard labor is now being performed by machines, and the people are displaced from actually doing the labor into jobs as operators of these machines. Accompanying these increases in technology and general prosperity is the development of efficient transit systems that make walking (as a primary mode of transportation) a thing of antiquity.

That said, genes do also play a role in obesity. Scientists hypothesize that, in the past, organisms found it most beneficial to use the least amount of energy possible to maintain cellular function. This led to the proliferation of so called “energy-thrifty genes” that conferred a survival benefit to the people who possessed them. This is because famine and drought were a common fact of life in agrarian societies. It was very advantageous to be able to function on a minimum amount of food. Thus, some scientists think that our genes are not suited for environments where food and energy sources are abundant throughout the year.

There are also other ways that genes can contribute to a person’s predisposition to obesity. Some people tend to overeat due to their body’s poor regulation of appetite, have a natural preference for sedentary lifestyles, or their bodies are genetically inclined to store body fat. Researchers have studied people who have been exposed to very similar environmental stimuli, and have observed that people respond differently even within families that are living together in the same environment. These studies provide further support to the idea that obesity is in fact related to genes.

YoNaturals wrote this article to raise awareness about this important topic. This rise in obesity is one of the unintentional side effects of these changes in societal behavior patterns that have occurred over the past decades in many places. Although genes can make some people more susceptible to obesity than others, the source of the problem always has some root in the energy imbalance in our diets. At the end of the day, most obesity is attributable to people taking in more calories each day than they manage to burn off during the course of a day.

Changing Family Behaviors by YoNaturals

AUthor: Laura Rayburn

What should you do when your family physician tells you that your child is overweight? What is the concerned parent’s first course of action? How can you create an environment for your children that will promote healthy weights, prevent childhood obesity, and ward of early onset diabetes?

Obesity in children is usually attributable to the child eating too many calories and not exercising enough to work off those extra calories. In fact, with the number of hours that children spend plopped down in front of the television these days, it’s no surprise that so many children are overweight by the time that they enter their teenage years. For parents, the best thing that they can do for their child to treat and prevent obesity is to change the child’s home environment.

Instead of forcing one child, the overweight child, to change his or her eating habits, it is much better to make changes in your whole family’s behavior. Not only will this provide support for the overweight child as he or she struggles with his or her own weight loss, but this will also mean that your whole family is living healthier. And who can argue with that?

Here are a few tips for instituting healthy changes in your family’s eating behavior compiled by YoNaturals:

1.      Begin by instituting small, attainable changes. If your child is used to having a candy bar or piece of cake after school, replace it with a healthier sweet snack, such as yogurt or apple sauce. If your kids love chip dips, start replacing the potato chips with a healthier (and equally crunchy) alternative, such as baby carrots. Find your nearest YoNaturals vending machine and offer your child something healthy for a change. Begin walking to the park instead of driving.

2.      Set up healthy living goals for you and your family. Your goals could be as simple as limiting ice cream to one night per week, or waking up early and going for an invigorating run for three mornings out of the week. Teach your children to set up goals that will challenge them to live healthier and will not be impossible to accomplish. Keep one another accountable by writing these goals onto a piece of paper and taping it to the refrigerator for everyone to see.

3.      Focus on keeping things positive for your family. Don’t focus on the negative spots, such as when your child adds a pound instead of dropping one this week. Maintain a positive focus for the sake of your child and your own sanity. Even if you do not see the effects of the changes right away, remember that these decisions that you are teaching her to make as a child will influence their health for the rest of her life.

With these tips in hand, sit down and write out a list of goals for your family’s health. Your children will thank you later.

A Healthy Baby with Organic Baby Food

Author: Crizza Reyes

Every parents wanted to impart in their child a good nutritional habits. And this could be challenging when kids are becoming more familiar with which fast food place is which at a younger and younger age. It needs to start early and some parents are beginning to help their babies learn to love healthier foods by feeding them organic baby food. Even though, this may seem like a passing rage to some parents, but many believe they are laying the foundation for a lifetime of good eating.

Most of us, have discovered the nutritional and health benefits associated with eating foods that are grown organically. The items that are used in the organic baby food are grown in a specific way as to ensure that no chemicals or preservatives of any kind come in contact with the food. This food is said to be healthier and more and more people are trying it each day.

Parents who really want to avoid their kids take up chemicals, organic baby food is a essential to them. The great thing about these products is that they are reasonably priced and readily available in your regular everyday supermarket. This is a great convenience for parents who want to feed their babies organic baby food instead of the regular fair.

Healthy organic baby food is really a great choice to parents who wants to make certain that they know exactly what is good for their baby. Food that is grown in an organic environment can consist of everything from fruit to meat to nuts. However, it’s a bit more costly than the standard food that we’ve all been eating for years.

Each parent seems to side with either purchasing pre-packaged foods or they may decide to make their own. For parents who are juggling a new baby as well as a career, the already made organic baby food is usually more appealing. It comes in the same containers as the traditional baby food that we’ve all grown accustomed to seeing on store shelves. With many grocery chains now selling organic items including baby food, a parent can usually find it next to the other baby food items.

Before, I was raised on normal, old fashioned, run of the mill Gerber baby food. Back then, organic baby food did not exist. There certainly was not organic baby clothing like there is today. So when my wife decided that we would feed the kid organic baby foods, I was not pleased. Why spend the extra money? Our budget was pretty tight as it was, and getting baby food organic did not seem that important to me. After all, why would it be any different for my baby? I was in great physical health and I had been raised on conventionally grown foods.

We argued on this for a while, but eventually I gave in. It seems like my wife might have something to her arguments. You see that, there is a lot of different things than when i was a kid. Back then, although we had pesticides and artificial fertilizers, we certainly did not have genetically modified foods. Research has shown that pollen from genetically modified food is much more likely to cause food sensitivities and food allergies. This could be a big problem, persistent for a child’s whole life. Organic baby food is really the only way to protect against these kinds of health problems.

Another argument that my wife made I found was pretty convincing. he said that, just because I did not suffer from health problems from eating conventionally grown food, it did not mean that other people didn’t. Organic baby food might save my baby from health problems that I was not prone to. Of course, it might all turn out alright as it often does. Nonetheless, we are parents, and it is our responsibility to not take any unnecessary risks with the health of our child.

As a reminder to someone who wants to feed their infant homemade food, they need a few supplies such as a well stocked pantry. You need to purchase fresh organic baby food if you want to make organic baby food by yourself. Many parents find it easiest to prepare all the organic baby food they’ll need for the week in one afternoon. Others prefer to cook meals for the entire family and then blend up some of that to make the baby food. It’s really a matter of personal preference. Either way a good quality blender is essential.

Whether or not it is because of the organic baby food, our baby boy is quite healthy. Teaching him to eat organic food, avoid sweets and junk food, and exercise daily will make him grow up healthy. Of course, it is still too early for a lot of that. After all, he is only baby! Nonetheless, when a couple years have passed and we have used up the last of the organic baby food, we hope he will still be as strong, happy, and healthy as he is today.

Author: Kevin Pederson

Do pizzas, ice creams, French fries, cookies and candies list high on your kid’s agenda for snacks. And despite you telling your kids innumerable times, they still swear by junk and unOrganic foods for snacks. Giving in for there desire for junk food is paving way for your kids to be obese.

Just as charity begins at home, good nutrition and balance diet habits start at home. The way of life today is fast paced wherein an adult is always on the move. The same applies to your children too. It is essential to have Organic snacks handy which your kids can grab on the move.

Early encouragement for smart eating habits, improved nutritious diet early in life could make your child Organic. Even if you can not stand on their heads 24*7, there are many ways where you can give them well balanced diet and life all round.

Ravenous and famished after school, you’re kid is likely to grab something from the fridge or kitchen shelf for snacks. After school snacking plays an important part of every child’s diet, as it could several hours since they last ate and they need nourishment, especially when they have to settle down, do homework and indulge in playful activities. Think of snacks as an opportunity to supplement children’s diet with Organic food. It guarantees the nutrition they deserve as well as curbs hunger pangs in between meals.

Make snack time nibbles attractive and hassle free. Prepare small portions of snacks and leave them in easy to find places like kitchen shelf, fridge or dining table. The healthiest and simplest choice for snacks is fresh fruits and raw vegetables requiring minimum preparation time.

Some good suggestions of kid friendly Organic snacks include:

2. Dry fruits like raisins or apricots and fresh fruits like apples, oranges, watermelons, and bananas.

3. Sandwiches with peanut butter, tuna or lean meat cuts.

Alternatives to Television and Video Games

Without a doubt, television and video games are the two greatest obstacles to living a healthy lifestyle in our modern society. From a very young age, children are lured to the bright flickering screens as each action packed minute flies by. What can possibly compare to the non-stop action and entertainment of a shoot-’em-up movie? What other pastime can bring us through such a range of emotions so consistently?

This is the dilemma that parents face on a regular basis. Our society is rife with these visual distractions. There is no question that television has some real educational value to bring to the table. Even video games can be used to teach our children important skills and hand-eye coordination. But the statistics show beyond a shred of a doubt that Americans watch far more television than is good for them.

At Yonaturals, we have compiled a list of alternatives to sitting on your bum. By far the most important one is to get your child involved in physical activities at an early age. At first you will not know what interests him or her, so your best bet is to expose them to a wide array of different sports and hobbies in the hopes that one will catch on. When they are old enough to express interest in a particular activity, make sure it is a safe one, and encourage them to explore this hobby.

If worst comes to worst, simply limit the amount of time they are allowed to watch television or play video games each day. This will force them to find other activities to enjoy, lest they die of boredom. No normal child can sit still for hours upon hours with nothing to do; they will find something to play on or do.

Vending Machines in Schools

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s School Health Policies and Programs Study (SHPPS) 2000 survey concluded that 43% of elementary schools, 89.4% of middle/junior high and 98.2% of senior high schools had either a vending machine or a school store, canteen, or snack bar where students could purchase competitive foods or beverages.

Debates have ensued regarding soda and food vending machines in elementary, middle/junior and high schools. Some parts of the country have introduced and enacted legislation to replace existing food and drinks that lack nutritional value for healthier options or to restrict student access to the machines. As of January 2004, Arkansas is the only state that has passed legislation banning vending machines in elementary schools. This is not just a state issue, however. Some cities and local schools districts have taken the lead and enacted policies to ban or replace certain foods and beverages in vending machines or restrict student access to the machines.

Competitive foods are defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as foods offered at school other than meals served through USDA school meal programs-school breakfast, school lunch and after school snack programs. According to the USDA, competitive food policies exist in many states and include laws that restrict access to food and beverage vending machines, school canteens and stores at certain times during the school day or limits access to foods with minimum nutritional value. See the USDA web site at http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/Lunch/CompetitiveFoods/state_policies_2002.htm for more information on state competitive foods policies.
